Requests- How to setup requests

Requests can be initiated and created by either a board/team member through the board/team member dashboard or by an owner through the unique owner portal that each owner in the HOA has access to. In order for either a board member or an owner to create a new request, a board member or a team member must setup the request type(s). Before setting up a request type, you must build the request forms that will accompany each type of request.

Step 1 - Setup Request Form

In order to illustrate a good example of how to setup a request type and how to create a new request, lets assume we are new to the EasyHOA software and we want owners inside of the HOA to be able to request that the board members in the HOA review an Architectural Application for a new shed to be built in the backyard of one of the homes in the HOA.

The Architectural Application in this example would act as the Request form. To create a new “Request Form”, click on Requests from the side menu navigation area. Then, click on “Request Forms”and then “New Forms” Requests>Request Forms>New Form

Learning how to build/create a new form can be tricky. Watch this video to learn how to create a form for your request

Step 2 - Setup Request Type in Request Settings

Go to Requests>Request Settings>New Type

In the example above, the new request type could be titled “Architectural Application Request” and for the description you could type in “This request type is for people who are requesting for the board to review an architectural application.”

After you click “Save” you will see your new request type on the Requests Settings page.

To manage the statuses of your HOA's requests click on the “Statuses” page next to “Types”. That page looks like this:

In the above screenshot, you can see that it is possible to add new statuses by clicking on the “New Status” button. Once you click on “New Status” you will see a screen that looks like this which allows you to add a new request status title.
