How to set up Approvals for specific Requests

Under Approvals, click on the button called “Approvals Rules.” Then click the “Create New Rule” button

For the next step, you're going to want to create the Workflow:

Instructions: First, name the workflow and choose which request type you want to trigger the approval process. When a new request is created with the open status, then the software will generate an approval task which will be assigned to a specific person(s) who will have to log in to their dashboard and approve or deny the request.

After you have the “Approval Rule” created you can test that the rule is working simply by going to the “request” page and creating a new request for the specific request type that you created under the approval rules.

If an approval does not “fit” within the set of rules you have created or if you just simply want to bypass setting up rules for requests and how they flow into the approval process, you can add an approval to a request manually by visiting the request page and clicking on the newly created request and scrolling down to the middle of the page and finding the button that says “create approval”
