How can i delete a connected bank account?

There are most likely two different reasons why you would want to delete a connected bank account in the EasyHOA software. 

 

1- When you integrated your bank with the EasyHOA software through Plaid it brought over accounts that you are not interested in managing through the EasyHOA software.  

 

This happens when sometimes personal bank accounts(non HOA related accounts) come over during the plaid connection process and you don't want them to show up.

 

If you connect your bank account(s) through Plaid and the connection pulls in a bank account that you do not want connected to Easy HOA, you can navigate under Accounting < Accounting Settings, locate the account that you would like to disconnect from the system, and then click the trash can icon to the right hand side of the unwanted connected account, click "accept", and then click "Yes, delete them".  This will ensure that all transactions for this account are deleted and that there is no connection to this bank account to filter in deposits and expenses automatically into the system.

 

2- You have lost your bank connection and need to reauthenticate your bank through plaid and have duplicate bank accounts showing

 

If in the case you need to delete a bank account connection (Reauthenticating your bank account is not working, so you need to connect the account again and it has duplicated the account) you can click the trash can icon on the bank account that has the orange banner error message, then click accept, and then click "No, keep them" to keep all of the previous transactions that are in that account that will then be transferred to the newly connected account(s).  If you select "Yes, delete them" on the last step, this will remove all of the transactions that are contained in the General ledger under this bank account resulting in a discrepancy and more work to get the transactions restored or entered again. 

 

Please ensure that you select "No, keep them" on the transactions so that the full history of transactions is still contained in the General Ledger for the specific bank account after the old bank account that cannot be reauthencated has been deleted.
