What are Custom Templates?
Custom Templates are manually generated templated emails or text messages that can be sent to your owners whenever you want to communicate with them and you don't want to type the same email or text out 10-20 or even a hundred different times.
Why would you send owners a custom template?
Property Managers or Self managed HOA board members typically use custom templates for the following reasons:
- When an HOA administrator wants to communicate about an event that happens one time
- When an HOA administrator wants to communicate about an event that happens multiple times and does not want to re-create the message every time he/she needs to blast out a text or email.
- When an HOA administrator needs to gather information from the owners in the HOA
- When an HOA administrator wants to quickly inform the owners in the HOA about an emergency in the area and what the emergency protocol is.
How do I create a custom template?
To create a custom template, simply navigate to the side menu and click on “Templates” and then scroll down to the middle of the page and click on “New Custom Template”.

How do I use a Custom Template
Custom templates can be used to email to everyone (from the Inbox>email>compose tool).
Custom templates can also be used for the “late to Lien” settings. Which can be setup to be triggered from “Days late” events. Messages created as Custom Templates can be setup to be automatically texted or emailed out to owners based on the settings of how many days late an owner is and what you have set forth in the late/lien settings/rules part of the software. *Placeholders can be used with any custom templates to pull in unit, or owner specific information for when you manually send these templates out or when the software kicks out messages that are tied to the late/lien settings.
Note: At this point in time, 4/23/24, custom template content cannot be used when composing mass texts. We are working on a feature that will pull custom templates over into the Mass Texting feature. The content used while composing a Mass texting message needs to be created manually every time you send a mass text through the Mass Texting Feature.
